Every child can learn to play an instrument

Every child can learn to play an instrument

This simple yet revolutionary concept became the foundation for the Talent Education Program created by Shinichi Suzuki. Talent Education is based on the idea that children are not born talented. Instead, talent is developed through immersion. Suzuki called this the “Mother Tongue” approach. He believed that students could learn to play the violin the same way they learn to speak their native language. This is the Suzuki Method, starting from variations of Twinkle Twinkle Little Star - a song which every Suzuki student will play.

Twinkle Strings Suzuki School

Lessons

We offer weekly, private violin and viola lessons, in a positive and encouraging environment. The length of each lesson depends on the student's level and age. Our students range in age from 3 to adult. Lessons are available at our studio in either Ancaster or Brantford.

Group Class

Our students attend a weekly Suzuki group class, offered in either Ancaster or Brantford. The class provides students with an opportunity to work with an accompanist and teaches them how to play together. It also fosters a sense of community among the students and their families.

Performances

Twinkle Strings students are given many performance opportunities throughout the year. Our annual Christmas performance is an outreach concert in the community. We recently organized a successful benefit concert in support of Ancaster Community Services.

"Musical ability is not an inborn talent but an ability which can be developed. Any child who is properly trained can develop musical ability just as all children develop the ability to speak their mother tongue. The potential of every child is unlimited."
